“CCDC CARES”
(formerly known as the Two Way Street Club)

In early January, an enthusiastic group of 32 met for a paper bag lunch and organizational meeting of CCDC Cares (previously referred to as the Two Way Street Club), a new ministry to provide help meeting short-term needs of parishioners, from picking up a prescription, to providing a meal or two, to shoveling a walk, providing a ride and much more. The purpose of this ministry will be to help parishioners with those often difficult to manage chores which usually would be done with the help of family members if they lived in the area. We are up and running and ready to go. The helper list is now close to 50 and will be very disappointed if they are not called upon for those little things you have been putting off from minor repair work to every day difficult to manage chores. You may be surprised to find some Confirmands under the direction of Rob Grabill answering your call or you may find another friendly face from CCDC.  Be assured that confidentiality will be maintained. In order to get some help for these little things that can mount up, email .  Amy Stringer will be on the other end of that email and will send the request out to the helper group saying that someone from Etna or wherever is looking for help moving a piece of furniture, for example.  Whoever is able to meet that request will e mail Amy at to say they can do it. Then Amy will be in touch with that helper, putting him or her in touch with the person requesting.  If you are not on email, you can call the church office at (603) 643-3150 and either Kendra or I will relay the message to Amy.  If you would like a person from the church to visit periodically for some friendly conversation and camaraderie, put your request in the same way. We have people who wish to serve parishioners in that way.  To recall the concept of the “Two Way Street Club”, the helpers can only help if you will consider this a great idea and ask for some help.  If you have any questions, please give me a call or drop me an e mail.  If you would like to join as a helper, do be in touch. We recognize that we may have people who are around all winter but leave in the summer and those who are here in the summer but not the winter. We are open to everyone’s schedule and vacation plans.
