Twenty-three enthusiastic CCDC Cares caregivers recently met with Frank Gould from “Those Guys” in Lyme. “Those Guys” is a 15-year-old service organization that does what we are trying to accomplish with CCDC Cares—that is, provide a system of providing help with chores for people who could use another hand with any given project or who may need an occasional ride, help with Spring cleaning, perhaps a gardening chore, or even a meal.  The meeting ended with a renewed commitment on the part of caregivers to advertise better our commitment to help out—for you, the parishioners, it could mean the difference between not getting a chore done, paying for someone to help with a project, or having an enthusiastic church member, someone you can trust and who perhaps you sit next to in church, answer the call. So, the caregivers also need to hear from the potential care receivers!!  Of course, it would be great to have as much advance warning as possible in order for people to plan.
