Happy New Year!

Not much of a better way to welcome in the new year than to celebrate the lengthening of days (already! finally!) with neighbors.  Consider getting together with neighbors this month or next to yank you out of the winter doldrums. No agenda needed; just time together to enjoy life and appreciate the beginning of a new year.

Here’s a snippet from Maya Angelou’s Inaugural Poem (1/20/1993):

Lift up your eyes upon
The day breaking for you.

Give birth again
To the dream.

Women, children, men,
Take it into the palms of your hands.

Mold it into the shape of your most
Private need. Sculpt it into
The image of your most public self.
Lift up your hearts
Each new hour holds new chances
For new beginnings.

Peace,
Sarah
