Reverend Amanda Lape-Freeberg

Senior Pastor
Thank you for being interested in The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College. I am delighted to have recently become a part of this community. I began as the Senior Pastor on October 1, 2017, a month that celebrated the 500th anniversary of the beginning of Protestantism. The timing was fortuitous, as it afforded me an opportunity to focus upon some essential basics of our tradition. I love theology. Having conversations about God, Christ, faith, church, worship, service, mercy, and grace thrill me. Although I love to read, and church history is a particularly favorite topic, I find that the best discussions about faith occur in our day to day lives, often wrapped around a particular life dilemma. Rather than understanding theology as an ancient topic concerned with esoteric ideas, I understand theology as the foundation upon which we build our lives. My goal is to help make the richness and graciousness of theology more recognizable as we live out our lives together. I hope to organically and naturally equip people with the theological tools to interpret and navigate their lives with more joy and insight.
The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College is an extraordinary congregation consisting of young and mature families, singles, college and graduate students all worshiping together. We are an Open and Affirming fellowship who welcomes all who seek to grow together in faith and service. We strive to created a church and a wider community of understanding, justice, peace, love, mercy, and grace. We provided many opportunities to interact positively with others. We have a nursery and Sunday school program for ages through 6th grade. We also have an active Confirmation class and a vibrant Youth group. We travel near and far, both locally and internationally, to assist with hunger elimination, refugee resettlement, Habitat projects, and Community development. We are blessed to be located in the midst of the Dartmouth campus, which affords us many resources as we attempt to understand the world and ourselves better. Please come and join us, it won’t be the same without you!
