Worship and Music

We invite you to share this pilgrimage with us.  As an open and affirming church, we seek to share the essence of our Christian heritage, through worship, music, education for all ages, fellowship and service.

Feel free to contact us, or just drop in again another Sunday.  We encourage you to sign the Friendship Pad when it is circulated during worship.

Le Tourneau Organ

The present organ, built by Orgues Létourneau of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec in 2005, replaces the church’s original Aeolian-Skinner/rebuild/rebuild that was installed in 1933, when the building was new. By 1999, the organ was failing, and after much study and discussion, it was decided to replace the old instrument with something entirely new, to be located in the front of the chancel. The funding for the new instrument and the extension of the chancel was part of a capital campaign for many long-deferred projects but Mary Ives, a long-time parishioner, contributed the money for the instrument in memory of her 5 family members who perished in the airplane bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland.

The “new” organ has 25 stops over 2 manuals and pedal, and has mechanical action. The organ is widely used by community and college neighbors, and we welcome that use.

Mrs. Ives also endowed an ongoing organ recital series, which hosts two world-class performers each year whose recitals are given to the community without any charge.
